How About Hail Damage?
Not all roofs are hit with major damage in a hail storm or even high wind incidents. However, if there’s one thing roofing companies in Wichita and Kansas know, it’s that our homes are vulnerable to storm damage that accumulates over time. In some cases, hail can become large enough to sustain a major blow to even a new roof. Unfortunately, no roof is entirely hail proof.
Most often, hail damage to asphalt shingles can’t be seen from ground level. A trained professional will need onto the roof to perform an up-close inspection.
Even though hail damage evidence will be apparent to our inspectors right away, the results of hail damage are not always immediate. For example, leaks do not generally present themselves right after shingles are punctured or fractured. Even though you may not see the leak right away, it could still be causing damage to your home. The lifespan of shingles can also be cut short by large hailstone bruises.
Shouldn’t I Just Call My Insurance Company For an Inspection?
Before completing an insurance claim that may not be warranted (and might be denied anyway), Pete’s Roofing will complete an evaluation of your roof. We can even show you photos or video of the actual roof damage if requested.
Our inspectors can quickly and accurately determine wind or hail has damaged your roof or shingles. Before filing an insurance claim, you’ll have actual data to help you make an informed decision on how to proceed. Of all the many roofing companies in Wichita and the surrounding areas, we take pride in our familiarity with insurance standards and their complicated policies. In many cases, insurance companies also recommend having your roof inspected prior to filing a claim. This helps them prevent sending an insurance adjuster to a home that might not have sustained any damage.
I Only Have a Leak
Even if your roof has not experienced recent hail or wind damage, you might have dripping water in your home or dark spots on your ceiling with a large rain or snow storm. This is because not every leak originates from storm damages. It might be that your flashing near skylights, vents or chimneys was installed improperly. Ice dams are also fairly common in the winter season and can be a cause of leaks. Our trained team can help determine the cause of your leak and resolve the issue.
